Building Inspections - Snow Log

The Property Vista Inspector App supports the creation of Custom inspection types. In this article, we will review the "Snow Log" inspection-type commonly used by staff members during the winter season.

Below is an example of a standard Snow Log inspection. You will see we have several different inspection areas: Weather Conditions, Ground Conditions, and Snow Log Name.

1. Create New Inspection - Start by selecting "Create New Inspection" and completing the following information in the Inspector App form:

    • Select 'Inspection Level' -- Select BUILDING
    • Select 'Building'
    • Input 'Date The Inspection Will be Made'
    • 'Select A Policy' from the drop-down menu -- Select SNOW LOG
      • Note - "Type of Inspection" should be auto-selected
    • Select 'Create Inspection'
      • A "Success!" message should appear indicating the Inspection was created successfully
      • Select "OK", then Open the Snow Log Inspection from the main dashboard

2. Weather Conditions* - In the first inspection subarea, you will be asked to indicate the Weather Conditions for that day. (*Note: A minimum upload of one photo may be required for this category. Please contact your property administrator for more information.)

3. Ground Conditions* - In the second inspection subarea, you will be asked to complete information about the Ground Conditions for that day. (*Note: A minimum upload of one photo may be required for this category. Please contact your property administrator for more information.) 

    • Parking Lot
      • Salt (SLT) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
      • Plow (PW) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)

    • Sidewalks
      • Snow Blower (SB) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
      • Shovel (SHV) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
      • Salt (SLT) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
      • Plow (PW) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)

    • Pathways
      • Snow Blower (SB) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
      • Shovel (SHV) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
      • Salt (SLT) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
      • Plow (PW) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)

    • External Stairwell
      • Shovel (SHV) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
      • Salt (SLT) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)

  • Driveway
    • Plow (PW) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)
    • Salt (SLT) - You can indicate whether this was Checked or Not Applicable (N/A)

4. Snow Log Name - In the final inspection subarea, you will be asked to input the Name of the staff member who completed the Snow Log inspection.

      • Name of Inspecting Party - You can indicate Yes or No by selecting the corresponding option, then select the Comment icon on the right-hand side to input the Name of the staff member completing the Snow Log inspection.

5. Submit Inspection - Once the Snow Log inspection subareas are completed, Select the green arrow on the upper-right of the screen, then select 'Submit' to complete the Snow Log inspection.

  • You will be presented with a summary screen confirming the Inspected Areas and any Action Items that may have been generated during the inspection.

  • After review, Select "Submit Inspection" from the bottom of the page.
    • You will see a "Success!" message pop-up indicating the Inspection was completed successfully.
    • Tap "OK" to return to the main Dashboard.
