In order to obtain the highest Renters Insurance adoption rates we recommend the following strategy:
Step 1: Navigate to Administration → Settings → Communication → Communication Categories → New Communication Category → New Broadcast Category
Step 2: Fill out required information
Category Name | Input a name for the category. (E.g. Renters Insurance Alerts |
Access Roles | Select roles for having access to read these communications |
Response Group | Select roles for having ability to respond to these communications |
Opt-Out Enabled |
The Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASTLE) proposed this setting. Select Opt-Out Enabled to allow the tenant to unsubscribe for communications to be sent by email.

Request On the Portal, a message pop up will ask if the Tenant agrees to receiving email notifications Opt-In By default, the Tenant receives the email notification and can choose to unsubscribe to receiving them. Opt-out By Default, the Tenant does not receive the email notification and can choose to subscribe to receiving them. |

Insurance Audit 1 | Explains what Tenant Insurance is and why it is required and asks the tenant to either provide a copy of their insurance certificate or purchase tenant insurance within 30 days from the broadcast. |

Insurance Expiration Reminder 1 | A reminder that the current tenant insurance on file is expiring in 90 days. Advises the tenant to renew their current insurance or buy new insurance. |
Insurance Expiration Reminder 2 | A reminder that the current tenant insurance on file is expiring in 30 days. Advises the tenant to renew their current insurance or buy new insurance. |
Insurance Expiration Reminder 3 | A reminder that the current tenant insurance on file is expiring in 15 days. Advises the tenant to renew their current insurance or buy new insurance. |
Insurance Move In Reminder 1 | Sends to tenants 10 days prior to start of tenancy to advise them of their requirement to either provide a copy of their insurance certificate or purchase tenant insurance. |
Insurance Move In Reminder 2 | Sends to tenants 1 days prior to start of tenancy to advise them of their requirement to either provide a copy of their insurance certificate or purchase tenant insurance. |
