Managing Blocklist for SMS

A new feature has been added in LeadManaging to support self-serve blocking of phone numbers and email addresses from unwanted senders.

Important Note: Currently, this blocking functionality is only available for SMS.

As part of the Blocklist feature, we've introduced self-serve SMS blocking in LeadManaging. SMS messages sent from numbers on the blocklist will not be processed, saved, or trigger any events in LM, including messages to Vivian-enabled numbers.

 

How to Add a Number to Blocklist:

1. From Lead Managing’s Dashboard page, click on Settings.

2. Click Start Managing under Blocklist.

3. Under Phone Numbers, click Start Managing.

4. In the open field, enter the phone number you wish to add to the list of blocked numbers.

    • Please enter a valid phone number. It must start with ‘+’ followed by the country code and the phone number with no spaces or special characters.
    • e.g. +14141112222

5. Click on the search button to quickly check the list if the number already exists. If none, click on to add the number to blocklist.

6. A prompt will appear to confirm the action, click Yes to proceed.

7. The number is now added to the blocklist.

 

How to Remove a Number from the Blocklist:

1. From Lead Managing’s Dashboard page, click on Settings.

2. Click Start Managing under Blocklist.

3. Under Phone Numbers, click Start Managing.

4. In the search field, search for the phone number you wish to remove from the list of blocked numbers.

5. Click on the search button to query the list of all numbers in the blocklist.

6. Click Unblock to remove the number from the list.

 

7. A prompt will appear to confirm the action, click Yes to proceed.

8. This will remove the number from the blocklist.

 

How it works:

    • Future SMS from blocked numbers are deleted and will not generate events or guestcards in LeadManaging.
    • LeadManaging users cannot send or respond to SMS from blocked numbers. When responding to a blocked number, a prompt will appear showing that the number is blocked, with an option to ‘Unblock’.

    • Unblocking a number resumes SMS processing going forward. Messages received while the number was blocked will not be recovered.
    • Existing SMS messages from a number prior to it being blocked will remain in LeadManaging.
    • This change does not impact the ‘Allow SMS’ checkbox on the guestcard.
