For our Canadian customers we have a Policy that allows you to setup your Background Screening rules. To enable Credit Check and Background Checks, make sure you have completed the EQUIFAX setup requirements found HERE.

In order to assist with the analysis of the Application and the Credit Check(s), we have teamed up with EQUIFAX to analyze the results of each credit check. EQUIFAX and PropertyVista take into account a number of criteria to calculate the ability of your applicants to pay their rent. At the end, we provide you with a recommendation, a report that shows the breakdown of each applicant and their risk factor), as well as what percentage of the rent they are able to cover (based on all the factors in the application).
In order to customize the results based on your company needs, you can choose from a range of criteria to indicate your threshold for automatic decline. Choose from occurrences in the last 12, 24, or 36 Months.
Bankruptcy [12M, 24M, 36M]
Judgment [12M, 24M, 36M]
Collection [12M, 24M, 36M]
Charge Off [12M, 24M, 36M]
Bankruptcy: Presence of 1 or more non-discharged bankruptcies on amounts larger than $750
Judgment: Presence of 1 or more unsatisfied judgment(s) on an amount larger than $750
Collection: Presence of 1 or more unpaid collection(s) on an amount larger than $750
Charge Off: Presence of Repossession or other Derogs*: Checks the presence of 1 or more trade lines with a current rating of 8 or higher OR 1 or more previous high rating of' 8 of type rate codes
*A derogatory item is an entry that may be considered negative by lenders because it indicates risk and hurts the ability to qualify for credit or other services. Public records and collections are derogatory items because they all reflect financial obligations that were not paid as agreed.
The system will automatically task manual reviews on application that meet the following criteria:

Presence of a death notice

Credit file with SafeScan or SafeScan ID warnings

No Match on the credit file with SafeScan or SafeScan ID warnings

Applicant under age (by provincial distinction)

SIN starting with '9' (temporary SIN number)
