Yardi Sync Modes Policy

Property Vista can be enabled to integrate with Yardi, to exchange various information, such as transactions, properties, tenants, etc. Currently, those property management companies which are integrated with Yardi, are able to manage the integration from a page in the Admin menu named Yardi Connections.

Users are able to configure the connection parameters from this page, as well as specify if they want to sync just Expenses with Yardi, or Expenses and Purchase Orders (POs), through an option on the page named Yardi Purchasing Mode. One limitation with this page is that users cannot sync different properties for different transactions. For example a different set of properties can not be synced for Expenses and a different set for POs. It has to always be the same.

To address this limitation, the system now offers a new Yardi Sync Modes policy, located under the Policies tab.

The new policy functions the same as the other policies in the system. There is by default an Organization level policy which cannot be deleted, the scope for this policy cannot be changed, and another Organization level policy cannot be created, because they would be conflicting. The settings configured for the Organization level policy, apply to all properties equally. Users are able to update values related to the three different sync modes. Each sync mode can be configured to one of three values:

  • On – When a sync mode is turned to On, it means the system will integrate that particular mode with Yardi. This option overrides any configuration from the Yardi Connections page.
  • Off – When a sync mode is turned Off, it means the system will not integrate that mode with Yardi. This option too, overrides any configuration from the Yardi Connections page.
  • Default – When a sync mode is turned to Default, it means the system will integrates with Yardi, as configured on the Yardi Connections page.

A user can create many other sync modes policies. The policies can have one of three scope levels:

  • Province – The policy applies to all properties within the selected province. Second highest level after the Organization scope
  • Complex – The policy applies to all properties within the selected complex. Third highest level
  • Building – The policy applies to the selected buildings. Lowest level of scope

A lower level policy overrides a higher level one. This means that a policy with scope as Building for property B1, will override another policy with scope as Complex which includes building B1.

There is checkbox on the policy named “Show “no Yardi Sync” confirmation”. Selecting this box will show a warning each time Expenses or POs are submitted to Yardi.
